Summer Celebrations: The Art Of Hosting with Montana Purchase

Photographer and friend of the brand, Montana Purchase, hosted a summer BBQ with her family. We asked about her seasonal traditions and hosting must-haves. 

Who are you sharing lunch with today?

My beautiful parents, two sisters, my boyfriend Ambrose, and my friend Natsumi.

What’s on the menu?

My sister Cedar is a great cook and made a special summery spread of sage and market mushroom pasta, tempura whiting and prawns, Coopers Shoot heirloom tomato salad, leafy greens with vinaigrette, and fresh ciabatta with lots and lots of butter and salt.

What are your summer traditions?

Afternoon bbq’s, washing the salt off our skin in a freshwater lake and eating seafood by the river.

What is your summer hosting must-have?

A few pet nat wines and lots of ice.

Do you have any staple menu or styling items on your celebratory table?

We always dress the table up for a special occasion with a few ceramic bowls made by my other talented sister, Jedda.

What is your favourite part about hosting a summer celebration?

The best part is always coming together with the people that you love. The so-called breaking of bread, sharing and indulging in the time you have with each other.
