Each fortnight, we’re sitting down with a member of our team to learn more about their personal pursuits, wellness rituals and Assembly Label essentials.
Meet Emily Giles, our Design Room Manager.

Hi Emily! What do you contribute to the Assembly Label business?

I work in the product team developing menswear, kidswear, footwear and new categories. I’m incredibly lucky to be able to contribute to the team to ensure we deliver the highest standards and quality, timeless products for our customers to purchase and live in.

What does an average day at work look like for you?

An average day can vary quite a lot. From measuring and fitting prototypes on our models and reviewing colour and prints in our lightbox, to sketching up range pages and developing new categories.

What is your most-worn Assembly Label piece?

My most worn piece is my Black Xander Linen Shirt, however this is soon-to-be overtaken by our new Single Strap Leather Slides. They have not left my feet since buying them, so comfy!

Can you describe a wellness ritual or personal project that you’ve relied on this last year?

My wellness ritual is regular ocean swims, whether it be in the middle of winter or summer. It can vary from a quick dip into the waves or a 1km swim. The saltwater does great things for the mind/body and releases the best kind of endorphins.

How do you find work/life balance each day or week?

As we are living in such a fast-paced, tech-connected world; it can become difficult to separate the two. However, we are very much encouraged and supported to not only have work goals but personal goals which are regularly discussed in our fortnightly catch-ups with our managers, which ensures we have a healthy work-life balance. I make sure to take time out every morning to focus on myself and my personal goals.
